Quilt Tops
So I didn't do too well in Blogtoberfest, completing only eight post, I had a lot more planned but I didnt realise how busy I would be. I had fun so that's all that matters.
I have finished two quilt tops. Using lines by Aneela Hoey. So far I have loved everything she has done.
The first is a baby quilt made from a charm pack of 'a walk in the woods' by Aneela Hoey. I added a few extra charms and two borders to make it a bit bigger. I am so happy with how it turned out and it only took a couple of hours to complete thanks to my newly learnt technique of chain piecing.
I am in no hurry to finish this quilt as I don't know anyone expecting a girl at the moment.
I got the fox pattern in Hand Stitched class and I knew it would work perfectly with this fabric line
A prize to the first person who notices whats missing on the fox!
Little Apples was the first fabric line that I fell in love with. I bought a fat eighth bundle at the start of the year or maybe it was last year. I can't remember. I held onto it for a while because I couldn't decide how to use it. All I knew is that it had to have big pieces because many of the prints are quite large. I started it in May and then I stopped when I started HandStitched class. The pattern I used was for a layer cake so I had to change the block sizes ever so slightly.
I need to get batting and backing fabric to finish this one. I am still trying to decide if I should add a border and if I should quilt it or tie it.
When I started HandStitiched class I stopped everything I was doing to concentrate on the class hoping that I wouldn't fall too far behind. I am still slowly trying to complete the class but I felt it was silly to have other projects waiting while I started new projects from the class so I am trying to finish a few things that are waiting before I start anymore class projects.
This is my dog eating grass! Shes not sick she just enjoys eating grass. Sometimes I think shes part goat.
I hope you have a lovely weekend
